Report on the CyCAT winter school on fairness, accountability, transparency and ethics (FATE) in AI

The first FATE Winter School, organized by the Cyprus Center for Algorithmic Transparency (CyCAT) provided a forum both students as well senior researchers to examine complex topic of Fairness, Accountability, and Ethics (FATE). Through program that included two invited keynotes, sessions led CyCAT partners across Europe Israel, participants were exposed range approaches on FATE, in holistic manner. During team also hands-on activity evaluate tool-based intervention where interacted with eight prototypes bias-aware search engines. Finally, join one four collaborative projects coordinated CyCAT, thus furthering common understanding interdisciplinary collaboration this emerging topic.
